From vintage cycling cinema to cutting-edge gravel racing documentaries, 2025 delivered a standout year for bike-racing films and YouTube cycling videos. In a world overloaded with streaming content, these handcrafted features cut through the noise, offering rare insight into pro road racing history, the rise of women’s cycling, iconic champions like Tony Martin, and the fast-growing gravel scene. Here’s our pick of the best cycling movies and racing videos of 2025 that every fan should add to their must-watch list.

Between streaming services, YouTube videos and older technologies like BluRay and DVDs, we are deluged in our modern world with near visual overload.  This will probably not be reduced by the expansion of artificial intelligence.  Until then we can look back at these handcrafted videos that we enjoyed in 2025:

We ended the year’s movie reviews with this one of the 2001 Franco-Belgian comedy/drama (“drama” in its loosest sense) that took us back to pro bike racing memes of the 1970s:

Road to Traka

For those of us not that familiar with the developing world of gravel racing, Pas Normal Studios put together an impressive and highly professional video about their very successful racing team.  Riders scored big in this developing discipline that, at the moment, is structured quite differently from the road racing we usually cover:

And here is a video that is a convergence of gravel racing, ultra bikepacking and riding in Rwanda, where a very successful UCI World Championships was held some months later:

We are seeing more and more good videos appearing on YouTube, such as “aftermovies” about events such as the Oeztaler Radmarathon, l’Eroica in Chianti and numerous ultra events.  The quality of these videos has improved dramatically in the last few years, whether in the hands of professional filmmakers or enthusiastic amateurs.  We look forward to even more excellent features in the coming year!
