I set a record this year – something akin to winning a certain kind of lottery – where the main prize is a trip to Italy – but not just one… in my case – I visited three times in 2025. A banner year indeed for hours sat in overseas economy seats (60+ hours), but more importantly for negronis imbibed in the holy land – Italy itself.
As i write this, I can remember most of them too – becasue each one served as some sort ofd rewqrd for a day’s work well done, and that pause that literally refreshes and relaxes – that hourt of the day where I cna finally exhale and lift my foot off the gas as I prepare for the eveing meal, and a solid nights sleep (before piling it all on again teh next day.
